Which one do you prefer...What do you think is the better one?...
Just wanting to get opinions...I currently have a Circle Y and I love it...
I am looking into getting another quality saddle just to have a spare...Just want to get peoples takes on the other ones that are out there...
Pros and Cons to any of the brands...Thanks

One of my favorite parts of horse ownership is seeing the different personalities shine through...Personality is key in the selection process... |

| They are all pretty good. It mostly comes down to personal preference. I personally like the older ones. The new ones are production made, some of those brands are made by the same people & they just put the different names on them. |

I have 3 horses and 9 saddles. I have gone wild buying saddles this past year. 1/1/2009 - I had only 4 saddles for 3 horses, Before the ladies give me grief - please count the shoes in your closet. Lately - I have been riding an 40 year old reconditional western saddle of unknown origin. It is a good saddle - but nothing like my Circle Y. And three of the saddles are youth size saddles for my kids.
I have a Circle Y Park and Trail - walnut and black smooth seat I bought used off ebay for a second saddle / show saddle. It is my favorite western saddle and is really comfortable to ride. My last ride with this saddle was in the NC mountains (Nov 09) - 5 hours group ride with steep climbs and this saddle was very confortable and did not require any refitting on my horse. A very close second is my Simco - Rusty Taylor Gaited Trail Saddle. But as far as quality - finish - fit and confort - the Circle Y is my #1 pick for a Western Saddle out of my hoard of saddles. You will not go wrong with a Circle Y.
I ride TWHs and use a 80 year old Bona Allen Plantation Saddle most of the time. It is very confortable - light weight but it is sorta like an oversized english saddle. This saddle is quick and fast to tack up and I enjoy the feel.
My brother is short on saddles - I might sell one youth saddle and the 40 year old unknown make saddle to him. This way my garage will no longer look like a tack shop.
Pic of my Plantation Saddle - my pic of the Circle Y is too large

I have a Billy Cook barrel saddle that I love. Very comfy, very well made. I also have an All American that I love as well. Both are great saddles and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Well, except a better or newer of the same brand. |

| It really depends on the horse. I found that the circle Y was too tight and left dry spots on either side of my horse's withers, and was also a tad long. When I had a Tucker wide tree, it fit several horses that I was riding very well, but I hated the seat for myself. You just have to keep trying to find the combination that fits both of you. |

| I adore my Tucker trail endurance saddle. I have looked at the other brands you mentioned and they are all very well-made and comfortable saddles; just depends upon which one fits your Horse the best. I needed a short, wide tree saddle with lots of rock in the tree and plenty of padding for me, and the Tucker fit the bill perfectly. |

| Simco's are pretty nice.. can't go wrong buying any of those brands as long as it fits the horse OK.. I've bought 2 Bighorn saddles too. Both were nicely built and durable. Some saddles just don't fit certain horses. We bought a broke in Cardora Bighorn.. could not get it to stay on the horse !! tried different pads and girths. Was just built too small for the horse.. She's kinda a big bone ole girl !! But the best ! |

| I bought a twelve year old Tex Tan show saddle off of tacktrader - it is the most comfortable saddle I've ever owned, and fits my horse perfectly. If it wasn't so heavy, I'd use it all the time :) I have a lamicell synthetic equitation model for training in, that one is also very comfortable. |

| I have 2 Billy Cooks and love them. My most comfortable saddle is a Champion Turf Equipment. They are very expensive and hard to find, all custom handmade, but mine was a gift so its the best one of all. Really love my Bighorn synthetic too. |

Fit is the key. Check that first. After my accident 4 years ago, I gave away lotsa good stuff (depressed as hell), but what I miss the most is my old Circle Y trail saddle. I miss that good old usin' saddle! |

| I have a Circle Y all around roper that I bought new in 1998 that I really like a lot. But I just ordered a custom handmade wade tree so I am not sure if I am going to keep my Circle Y or not. |

| I own a Big Horn flex, a Circle Y omaha, and a fox poley by the Australian stock saddle company in CA. The Aussie is a hybrid and most comfie of the three (and by far the best made). However, you cannot sit in it like a Western. My Circle Y is my fav western trail saddle. |
